There was a time when a fougère did not simply mean fresh It was darker, greener, more complicated—civilisation meeting wilderness. Fougère Oublié returns to that forgotten language. Bergamot and Buddha’s Hand lemon illuminate lavender, bitter herbs and fresh green leaves before the fragrance slowly descends into geranium, carnation, lilac, rose and warm spices. Beneath them lies its true soul: damp oakmoss, patchouli, vetiver, cedarwood, sandalwood, tonka and the faint shadow of tobacco. Nothing is excessively polished. The herbs remain bitter. The moss remains damp. The woods feel lived in. This is not an imitation of a vintage perfume, nor simply an exercise in nostalgia. Because nostalgia beautifies the past. Memory remembers the rain on stone, crushed leaves between the fingers, wool carrying the scent of a forest, and moss growing quietly where sunlight rarely reaches. I study the curve of a scent, watching how it breathes and shifts in the air, slowly blending it by hand until it feels human.
